BERENT to conduct EPO user satisfaction surveys 2026–2027

BERENT will be carrying out the European Patent Office (EPO) user satisfaction surveys for the 2026–2027 cycle. We will contact users of the European patent system (both applicants and their external representatives) by email and telephone to gather feedback on their experience with EPO services.

For application-specific surveys (Search, Examination and Opposition), respondents will be asked both about their experience with the selected application and about their general views of EPO services and future expectations. The first survey to be launched is Search survey, which focuses on the search report and written opinion issued for a specific application.

The EPO does not always have direct contact details for the person who worked on a specific application at the company, particularly when communication is handled through an external patent attorney. We therefore kindly ask organisations we contact to help us identify the person familiar with the selected application.

All responses will be treated confidentially and reported to the EPO in aggregated form. We greatly appreciate the cooperation of everyone taking part.
